Secondary funds specialise in so-called Purchase/Replacement Capital.  They take minority stake purchase of existing shares in a company from another private equity investment organisation or from another shareholder or shareholders.

Where we see a sizeable activity of secondaries in Anglo-Saxon countries, the activity of secondaries in Belgium so far has been limited.
